In one of those post-Christmas moments where you’re sitting around with nothing better to do I decided to see if I could restore my old blog about MUDs. Between a scrape of the wayback machine and an old wordpress database backup I think I’ve gotten most of it.
I’ve restored the posts and hopefully caught most of the internal links although naturally there has been a lot of bit-rot of the external links. The post dates should be correct but I haven’t found a way to set the correct dates for comments short of manually editing them all. If I get some time I may do that but for now I’m just going to restore the comment content as best I can.
The downloads page and FMud demo are missing but I don’t think anyone is using Flash for a mud client these days so that shouldn’t be any big loss. It was cutting edge back in 2008, mind.
This may spur me on to start posting about MUDs and games again (I have an install of Evennia winking at me), but no promises. It’s at least been fun to read back over old posts and conversations.
